Introducing the Swagtron T5 Beginner hoverboard. From one of the most successful hoverboard companies in the world comes this interesting piece of technology.
Also known as the Swagboard Beginner, the T5 is Swagtronโs take on a high-value and solidly built entry-level hoverboard thatโll work wonders for both beginners and advanced riders on a budget.
The Swagtron T5 is synonymous with user-friendliness and safety. After the immense success of the Swagtron T1, the company went on to develop the T5 โ a hoverboard that brings something else to the table.
The Swagtron T5 has upgraded gyroscopic steering technology. Since their last release, Swagtron came a long way in improving the technology they previously implemented.
What does this mean for you? It means youโll have a smoother and more seamless riding experience and itโll ultimately be easier to learn how to ride a hoverboard. Compared to previous models, the handling mechanisms respond quicker on the T5, which gives you a more fluid ride.
Another key change is the wheels. On the Swagboard T5 Beginner, youโll have enhanced (though less powerful) motors and better wheel stabilization.
If youโre riding on uneven surfaces (mind you, this is not anย off-road hoverboard), you wonโt feel the bumps and jumps as much as you would with, say, theย T580.
A lot of us care about hoverboard safety โ especially since either we or our kids will be riding them. Weโve heard all kinds of horror stories of hoverboards blowing up or catching fire so itโs logical to be concerned about a potential purchase.
However, the hoverboard industry has come a long way since the introduction of the UL 2722 safety certification which ensures a safe riding experience.
For a hoverboard to achieve the UL 2722 certification, it has to be rigorously tested against a wide range of potential risks involved with this technology.
The Swagtron T5 passed the UL 2722 safety tests with all aces and it even exceeds the standards and expectations required concerning fire hazards etcetera.
Whether youโll be riding thisย high-quality hoverboardย yourself or gifting it to your kids, you can rest assured that whoeverโs at the wheel is in safe hands.
TIP: Always check for the UL-2722 safety certification before buying a hoverboard. If thereโs no information to be found about that particular product, we highly recommend not purchasing it as thereโs potential for safety risks.
Itโs easy to get started with the T5. Out of the box, youโll have to charge it (which takes 90-100 min) and then youโll be ready to go for a ride.
If this is your first meeting with a hoverboard, fret not; the Swagtron T5 offers two different riding modes thatโll let you customize how you ride.
The first riding mode is the learning mode. The learning mode offers limited speeds which makes it easier to manage the hoverboard.
Once you get comfortable with the easy mode, you can step it up by turning on the standard mode. This riding mode uncaps the earlier set speed limit and lets you use your hoverboard to its full potential.
One of the reasons why Swagtron are as successful as they are, is the fact that they create intuitive products that are easy for beginners to use. The Swagtron T5 is no exception to that.
Although this model has seen enhancements to its motors, it only has a total of 400 watts of power as opposed to the T1 Proโs 500 watts.
Evidently, this means that you wonโt be able to get as much speed out of this hoverboard as with some others.
With a speed limit of 6.8 miles per hour, the Swagtron T5 is unable to match the fastest hoverboards, but this is actually a reasonable top speed โ especially if youโre a kid or a beginner.
As for range, the hoverboard can travel 7-12 miles per charge according to the manufacturer. In our range tests, we found that 6.6 miles was the average. Considering the very competitive price of this hoverboard, this range is actually quite decent.
You can certainly say, that what the Swagboard Beginner lacks in terms of power and speed, it makes up for in value and ease of use.
If youโve searched around the hoverboard market, youโll surely have noticed that 50%+ of the products boast about having Bluetooth speakers and a companion app that lets you unleash the full potential of your hoverboard.
Itโs a shame, but the Swagtron T5 has none of that. One of the reasons for that is probably the fact that itโs a very cheap product. Thereโs a general trend with cheap hoverboards that these are the features they go on compromise with first. After all, itโs more important to have wheels than to be able to listen to Ed Sheeran.
If you do care about these additional features that a lot of the hoverboards offer, you should probably look elsewhere. If they donโt matter much to you and youโre all about just riding, the Swagtron T5 will be the cheaper alternative.
So in conclusion, the Swagtron T5 is a safely designed and user-friendly hoverboard with a low price tag. If youโre new to the hoverboarding trend or if you donโt want to break your bank acquiring one, the Swagtron T5 is a serious contender.
It does fall short of other models in terms of functionality and speed which is, of course, a bit of a shame. However, as most beginners will either upgrade eventually or leave the hoverboard in the dust, the Swagtron T5 seems like an affordable and solid introduction to the trend.
We recommend the Swagtron T5 for people who donโt care much for speed but rather having a reliable and cheap hoverboard they can always count on. Itโs both aย safe kids hoverboardย and a perfect contender for adults.
