The NIU KQi 300X is the best suspension commuter I've tested under $1K. It’s great on hills, perfect for heavier riders, and handles bad weather well. While it's not the most range-efficient, 26.8 real-world miles is plenty for most. The build is reliable, and the front fork makes it one of the comfiest rides at its price.

The VX2 Pro is the most capable commuter scooter under $1K I've tested. It sets new records for motor and battery performance, and it's high on safety and reliability. No suspension is the only downside. If you're okay with that, the VX2 Pro is the one to beat.
