This calculator uses a research-backed model combining calendar aging (√t relationship from SEI layer growth) and cycle aging with temperature and depth-of-discharge factors. Based on Geotab’s 2025 EV Battery Health Study and NREL data. Actual results vary by battery chemistry, manufacturer, and usage patterns.
How to Maximize Battery Life
Store at moderate charge levels. If you won’t ride for a few weeks, keep the battery at 40-60% rather than full or empty. Batteries degrade faster at extreme charge levels.
Avoid temperature extremes. Don’t leave your scooter in a hot car or outside in a freezing garage. Room temperature storage is ideal. The calculator assumes 21°C (70°F) as the baseline.
Use partial charges when possible. Charging from 20% to 80% is gentler on the battery than 0% to 100%. Save full charges for days you need maximum range.
Don’t let it sit empty. A fully depleted battery left for months can result in permanent damage. If storing long-term, charge to 50%, monitor and top up every few months as needed.
Charge after the battery cools down. Avoid plugging in immediately after a long ride. Let the battery cool for 15-30 minutes first.
