Be warned though, if you are just getting started in the world of electric scooters, the extreme speeds that you find with this unit won’t just be overwhelming, they will also be dangerous.
However, if you do have the experience, and a healthy chunk of money to spend (this scooter is also abnormally pricey) you will find lots to like here. It’s powerful, fast, and sturdy, making it a great product for recreational users who are looking for a thrill.

However, in this case, “as lightweight as possible” doesn’t necessarily mean much. The Nanrobot D4 is more than twice the weight of your average commuter unit, making it difficult to transport.
The design concept allows for the scooter to fold in half, making it at least slightly easier to transport.
The Nanrobot is controlled via an LCD display on the handles. The user is able to shift between single and dual motor modes (depending on what sort of speeds they want to access).
The scooter also features pull brakes near the handle so that you are able to stop seamlessly when needed.
Safety is always key, but this is especially true when you are zipping through the world at forty miles per hour. One of the best safety features found on the Nanrobot D4+ is the brakes. Both the front and the back brakes are electric and facilitate quick, smooth stops.
The pneumatic tires are also effective shock absorbing agents that help you enjoy a smooth ride. The shock absorption function makes it safer to zip around at high speeds.
It also features LED headlights and taillights that increase your visibility, especially as you ride at night.
You get a pretty decent warranty with the Nanrobot D4+. The frame and wheels are protected for the first year of use. This means that if you experience any errors in the first 365 days that were the result of a manufacturer's error, you will be taken care of.
Unfortunately, the warranty is a little bit less generous when it comes to the scooter’s electric components. For these elements of the scooter, you are only covered for the first six months.
The company also features around the clock customer support. If you have troubleshooting concerns, you can reach out at any time for assistance.
Ultimately, the customer service experience leaves very little to complain about.
The first and biggest downside will be the price. You could buy five basic scooters for the amount of money that you spend on this unit. Granted, the features will justify the cost for some buyers. However, if you’re on a restrictive budget, you probably won’t give this option much thought at all.
It’s also super heavy. The seventy-pound frame is substantially bulkier than most scooters that we review. The size is somewhat necessary, especially when you are dealing with the high speeds that this scooter is capable of.
However, that doesn’t change the fact that this scooter will be really difficult to transport. If you’re on a college campus or in a city, you just won’t be able to make this choice work.
The company does advertise the unit as having a portable design, but this is misleading. The folding feature, though handy to have, doesn’t change the fact that nearly everyone will have a very hard time handling this bulky scooter.
It’s also worth noting that this scooter does take a long time to charge. However, given the D4+’s specifications, this is not necessarily surprising.
This is definitely going to be a scooter that is best suited for people with plenty of experience. The crazy speeds are enough to ensure that beginners would have a very unpleasant and probably very dangerous time.
Also, bear in mind that this isn’t a commuter scooter. It’s a sporting product that will be good for people that like off-roading, or just enjoying crazy speeds.
If you fall into that category, this is going to be a great option for your needs.
The price is a little bit disappointing. Though this is a high-performance scooter, the ultimate fact of the matter is that the majority of people out there might not have the budget for it.
However, when it comes to actual user experience, the Nanrobot D4+ is really top-notch. The speed, the smooth breaking, the shock-absorbing tires all aggregate into a scooter that facilitates a truly unique riding experience.
Once you get over the price tag and the admittedly heavy frame, things look pretty sweet. If you want a great scooter, and you’re willing to pay for it, the Nanrobot D4+ comes highly recommended.
