Built to last and for rides on rougher roads, the Hover-1 Titan is designed for riders interested in sturdy top rated hoverboards. It has very large tires, dual 250-watt motors, and can hold riders up to 265 pounds, which is a heavier max than the other Hover-1 models. While the speed and range aren’t the most impressive, charging is fairly quick, and both are enough for fun rides across a college campus or neighborhood.

Speed & Range

With only a 7.45 mph top speed, there are faster hoverboards than the Hover-1 Titan on the market right now. If speed is a really big deal to you, you might find the Titan a bit on the slow side.

The range is also fairly short, topping out at 8 miles, and if you’re going really fast during your rides, it will shorten the range. This is clearly not a hoverboard built for speed or commuting, but it’s perfect for rides around the neighborhood or at a college campus.

Most of the time, you don’t need to be going super fast anyway; it’s safer to go slower. At a moderate speed, you’re much more likely to get that full 8-mile range on one charge.

Construction

The Hover-1 Titan is built with dual 250-watt motors, for a total of 500 watts. That gives it a nice amount of power, especially for climbing hills. This electric scooter can handle 15-degree hill inclines.

The battery is a 36-volt lithium-ion battery that takes up to 4.5 hours to fully recharge. To keep the battery in the best shape, recharge it after each ride.

As for the hoverboard’s weight, it’s pretty heavy at 30 pounds (more on that here). That does mean, though, that it can carry a heavier rider up to 265 pounds.

The wheels also help with the sturdiness of the board; they are 10 inches. This means you can ride on rougher terrain, though caution should always be used, and you should significantly reduce your speed.

Safety

Like all the Hover-1 self-balancing scooters, safety is one of the best features. The Titan is fully UL-certified, with a UL-certified battery and power cord. That means it’s passed rigorous safety tests, including tests on overheating and overcharging.

For riding safely in the evenings or when the sun isn’t bright, there are LED lights, so you can be clearly seen. There are also two speakers, and while one is for playing music, the other is for safety alerts from the hoverboard.

Bluetooth Speakers & App

The Titan lets you stream music from your smart device thanks to Bluetooth speakers. The hoverboard is also controlled via an app, so you can see your riding specs like speed, distance, and battery life.

You can also select from three skill-level riding modes. If you’re a beginner, you’ll want to stay on the easiest skill level until you get comfortable. This ensures your safety. This makes the board versatile and good for beginners as well as advanced riders.

Customer Service

If your Titan has a problem, you can go to the official Hover-1 website and click on the Support and Troubleshooting tab. There, you can find all kinds of guides, product manuals, and more, so you can get a quick answer to a question and repair the board yourself if possible.

If you prefer, you can also submit a ticket to a customer rep. All Hover-1 hoverboards have a 90-day limited part and labor warranty. This covers any defects with the motor, battery, motherboards, lights, controller, and gyroscopic sensor.

Downsides

For what it is, there aren’t many downsides to the Hover-1 Titan. However, if you want a faster hoverboard that can also be used for commuting, you would be disappointed.

There are a lot of other faster hoverboards, some of which are less expensive than the Titan. One of the other Hover-1 models (the Hover-1 Ultra) is faster with a better range, and it costs less.

If you don’t care about the large tires or rider weight max, the Titan probably isn’t the best scooter for you.

Who Should Buy The Hover-1 Titan?

The Titan’s main selling point is its wheels. At 10 inches, it means they’re good on rougher terrain. That gives you more freedom about where you can go.

The fact that it can hold 265 pounds is also notable, so it’s a great choice for heavier riders who want to feel secure and stable on the hoverboard.

Final Verdict

While the range and speed might not be too impressive for the price, the Hover-1 Titan does have some appealing features like big tires, Bluetooth speakers and an app, and UL certification.

This sturdy hoverboard is designed with rougher terrain in mind, as well as heavier riders, so there’s more flexibility in who can ride it and where they can go.

As long as you aren’t planning on commuting with this hoverboard or getting to really high speeds, you’ll like the Titan.
