Notice: There is a newer version of this electric skateboard with improved specifications out how. Read our review of the Halo Board Beast here.
The Halo Board 2 is, in our opinion, the best electric skateboard on the market. With its incredible power, construction, and features, it’s the best electric skateboard you can buy. It gets up to a blazing 26 mph top speed and a 14-mile range on a single charge. For that superiority, however, expect to pay a lot of money. In this review, we’ll go through all the reasons why this Halo Board 2 costs so much and why it’s worth it.
The Halo Board 2nd Edition electric skateboard boasts a shockingly-powerful motor. It’s a dual hub motor, with a total output of 3000 watts. They are located in the skateboard hubs; each motor controls a wheel on the sides.
The battery is lithium-ion and gets topped up when you brake because of the Halo Regenerative Brake system. Together, the motor and battery give the Halo Board a top speed of 26 mph and 14 miles’ worth of ride time per charge.
Thanks to the Torque Management acceleration, the skateboard rides extremely smoothly. It can handle pretty steep hills, as well. The specs say 25-degrees.
If you do happen to run out of battery while on a ride, you can kick the board like a regular skateboard. Charging takes about 3 hours.
Considering how powerful the motor is, you would think the Halo Board might be heavy, but it isn’t. It actually only weighs 14 pounds. That’s made possible with the T700 Carbon Fiber construction, which is both very light and incredibly strong.
The deck is 36 inches. As for the wheels, they measure 83 mm, which is just over 3 inches. You can also adjust the trucks as desired. The skateboard can hold riders up to 286 pounds, which means both kids and adults can easily and safely use this electric skateboard.
The Halo Board is controlled with a Bluetooth remote. Like all e-skateboard remotes, you can control your speed going forward and in reverse.
However, it also has the added bonus of an LCD display. You can see stats like your ride speed, battery life of both the remote and the board, and signal strength.
You can also switch from “Regular Mode” to “Beast Mode.” Be sure you’re an expert at Regular before upgrading.
This electric skateboard comes with a UL-certified charger and the batteries are certified Firesafe. Always use the charger your board came with, and don’t leave it charging overnight. To keep the battery in good shape, charge after each ride. You don’t want to charge it from empty very often; the battery functions best when there’s still power.
When riding, be sure to wear a good helmet. This is an extremely fast electric skateboard. You should also be sure to ride only in the daytime, or if you must ride in low light, get a headlight. Board lights, which usually illuminate 3-10 feet, are also a must buy. These attach to the deck or trucks. Even with lights, you should significantly reduce your speed.
If there are issues with your Halo Board, you can go to the Halo Board website and click on the “Support” tab. You’ll find FAQ and maintenance guides, as well as a user manual.
When you purchase a Halo product, you get the Halo Care Warranty, which covers any malfunction to the board (motor, electrical components, etc) during your 6-month warranty period. There’s no limit on how many times the board can be repaired.
If you want to return your skateboard, it’s accepted within 14 days from the delivery date. You will need the original packaging and padding. Once the return is received, you’ll receive a credit on the card you used for purchasing.
In terms of its quality and features, there really aren’t any downsides to this electric skateboard. Some say they wish there was a little more range, but 14 miles is not bad at all.
The biggest issue with this board is the price. It is expensive, as in, close to $1000, and that’s after a reduction in price.

The Halo Board 2 is an electric skateboard for serious riders.
While riders can be as young as 10 years old, a rider will be using this for years to come, and with its speed, range, and maximum rider weight, it’s a great choice for adults, as well.
Because it’s so pricey, this may not be the best electric skateboard for very new riders who aren’t sure if they’re going to love the experience. If you’ve been riding for years, though, with cheaper, lower-quality boards, the Halo Board 2 is the best upgrade you could give yourself.
There’s a reason the Halo Board 2 is frequently called the best electric skateboard of the year, and of the past few years, too.
It has an amazing 3000-watt motor that gives a top speed of 26 mph and a range of 14 miles.
Despite its power, the construction remains light at just 14 pounds, though it’s strong enough to hold a heavier rider. The board is easily controlled with a remote, which has an LCD display with stats.
Halo didn’t skimp on any features, so if you want the best of the best and are willing to pay for it, get this electric skateboard.
